The safety, security, and well-being of their guests and crew has always been their number one priority. Regent is continuously consulting with The World Health Organization and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and are ready to take extra action if needed.
Regent’s Healthy Return to Cruising
Healthy Sail Panel
Regent Seven Seas Cruises is working with a knowledgeable team of wide-ranging experts that have been tasked to steer the cruise industry’s way forward in response to COVID-19. Regent’s Healthy Sail Panel consists of universally-recognized experts in Public Health to create, execute and evolve industry-leading guidelines. Regent’s Health and Safety Protocols include every part of onboard and shoreside procedures to protect guests, crew, and the locals in the destinations Regent will sail to.
Safety on Regent Cruise Ships
Here are just a handful of the safety protocols Regent will be taking to ensure guests’ safety. These protocols are amongst the many others they will be diligently following, based upon the extensive requirements issued by the CDC for a return to sail order. Regent’s goal is to exceed those requirements.
Regent has a 24/7 prevention agenda that will feature constant disinfection of public areas and high-traffic touch points, as well as daily fogging of all suites, public spaces, and hallways. This utilizes a hospital-grade oxidant that is natural, safe, and non-toxic. Guest suites will have daily thorough cleaning to prevent any bacteria from spreading. This also includes fogging of the entire space, including bathrooms and closets.
Upgraded Air Filters
Regent has upgraded their fleet’s air filters to H13 HEPA air filters, which can remove 99.9% of airborne pathogens and are effective enough to even catch particles of COVID-19. These medical-grade air filters will provide safer and cleaner air for guests.
Onboard Health Officer
Each ship will have a dedicated Public Health Officer onboard, responsible for the oversight of all outbreak prevention initiatives. They will be monitoring day-to-day sanitation and cleanliness of all public areas and accommodations, maintaining compliance with the CDC’s Vessel Sanitation Program. They will work closely with the ship’s medical team on board as well as the Public Health and Medical departments in the destinations Regent will sail to.
The world is constantly changing, and Regent will be continuously monitoring the global health map and canceling or changing itineraries to impacted destinations if needed. Guests and crew who have recently traveled through high-risk locations may be prevented from boarding.
Safety of Guests
All guests will go through a pre-embarkation health screening.
Once it is time to board and start your journey, Regent has designed an improved embarkation and check-in process to implement social distancing measures that includes a temperature screening. Embarkation terminals will be cleaned continuously, terminals will be carefully sanitized and, when possible, fogged before and after each embarkation and debarkation.
No-Touch Food Service
No-touch food and beverage service will be executed across all ships with staff stationed at all restaurants and lounges. All guests will be required to frequently wash their hands and hand sanitizer stations will be positioned all over the ship.
Regent has reduced shipboard capacity to create more space for responsible social distancing. This will include smaller group sizes for shore excursions, culinary classes, onboard activities, and seating in entertainment venues, along with increased spacing in dining venues.
Regent is partnering with local destinations and tour operators to ensure their industry-leading health and sanitation protocols extend to the shoreside experience. Embarkation terminals, tour coaches, and the attractions they will visit must have appropriate health and safety protocols in place.
Safety for Crew
A healthy crew is required to protect guests. Regent will have constant monitoring of staff and crew health put in place, including consistent testing of crew members, temperature checks multiple times per day as well as strict sanitation and hygiene protocols.
Onboard Medical Team
Regent is expanding their medical teams to provide a high Medical Staff-to-Guest ratios on board all of Regents ships. All Enhanced onboard medical centers will be able to perform PCR testing, and will be stocked with common prescription medications and treatments. Complimentary consultations and treatments will be provided for respiratory illnesses and each ship will be equipped with dedicated isolation accommodations, should the unlikely need arise.
A Safe, “Travel Bubble” While Onboard Regent
Regent is dedicated to creating a perfectly controlled, safe, COVID-19-free “bubble” for everyone onboard.
The protocols that will be put in place will ensure that no one boarding the ship will be positive with the COVID-19 virus. With a cruise experience, everyone embarks and disembarks at around the same time, meaning that cruises are much easier to control than a hotel or resort vacation, where people are constantly coming and going.
Regent is committed to being vigilant by not allowing guests to be exposed off the ship or allowing anyone on board who might be symptomatic, meaning guests will be traveling in a safe “bubble”.
Unrivaled Space at Sea
The space concept is more about the desire that clients will have for more space, because there will be less crowds than the typical cruise experience in the past. Regent’s concept has always been to offer that luxurious experience that comes with less guests and more space while on intimate ships, but they are taking this concept to a new level.
Personal Space Onboard
With a maximum of 490 to 750 guests, Regent has a staff-to-guest ratio average of 1:1.5, which (as you might guess) creates an amazing professional and personalized service experience.
Regent ships have expansive social areas and world-class facilities, all within an intimate-feeling ship experience.
With multiple specialty dining venues (all included!) there will never be lines or a crowd. Dynamic evening entertainment will provide guests with comfortable and spacious seating, with cabaret-style tables for two.
You will be able to enjoy a large pool deck area where you can relax in a private area on a sun lounger. Experience extensive, state-of-the-art fitness offerings with optional one-on-one personal fitness classes and personalized, onboard enrichment classes and activities. Private “Bubble” Group Experiences
Shore excursions exclusively for small groups of Regent guests only will be available, providing guests the ability to experience the destination while still staying within the perfect “bubble”. Regent has multiple shore excursion options available in each port of call where guests will feel safe, and not overcrowded.
Customized shoreside experiences will be available upon request, away from the tourist crowds with private viewings and exclusive access in captivating destinations. A private guide and driver will be available for a more personalized level of engagement in each location.
Sanctuary at Sea
Regents has an all-suite fleet which features spacious and luxurious accommodations with large, private balconies across 98% of suites. Their balconies are among the largest balconies at sea!
