Q&A with Erin
Can you tell us about the Celebrity Cruise itinerary you experienced? Which destinations did you visit?
We sailed on Celebrity Infinity round-trip from Athens with stops in Mykonos, Santorini, Rhodes, Kusadasi, Turkey and Hydra.
What were some of the highlights of your Mediterranean itinerary? Any ports of call that really stood out?
We really enjoyed all of them, but Rhodes’ history and beautiful beaches impressed us and the amazing ruins of Ephesus in Turkey.
What were some of the excursions or shore activities you got to try during your cruise?
We did a wine tasting at Santo Wineries on Santorini. The wines were great and the view spectacular.
Was there a destination or experience that surprised you or exceeded your expectations?
We got to watch a woman making a Turkish carpet. It can take over one year to make one carpet.) We got to try Turkish Raki (liquor) and Turkish coffee while we watched.
What was your overall impression of sailing with Celebrity Cruises?
I would definitely recommend Celebrity. It offers nice staterooms, great service and lots of food options.
How would you describe the onboard service, dining, and amenities?
The food and service were very good. There was always a lot going on, but when I wasn’t ashore, I was mostly relaxing, so I did not partake in much.
Did you try any specialty restaurants or onboard experiences you’d recommend?
We did try Le Petit Chef, which was a fun experience.
What kind of stateroom did you stay in, and how was the accommodation?
I stayed in an Aqua Class balcony cabin. It was a good-sized room with a nice balcony. This room has exclusive access to Blu restaurant.
Spa concierge, unlimited access to the exclusive spa and thermal suite, fitness amenities, daily bottled water, and priority reservations for spa and dining are also included.
What types of travellers do you think would enjoy a Celebrity cruise like this? (Families, couples, solo travellers, etc.)
I think Celebrity is good for families (multi-generational), couples and solo travellers. It has something for everyone.
Do you have a favourite memory from the cruise that you’ll never forget?
Just spending time with my daughter, celebrating her graduation.
Was there a particular shore excursion or local dish that really stood out to you?
Probably the stop in Hydra. There are no cars on the island, just donkeys. I visited this island 30-plus years ago, and my picture of the waterfront is exactly the same today as it was then. In this ever-changing world, it is nice to see some things don’t change.
